In Memoriam: C. K. Goertz
--------------------------
You have all certainly heard the details of the November 1 tragedy
in Iowa. We will deeply miss our fellow coordinator. Chris Goertz had
given our GEM effort critical guidance in its formative stages. We
intend to build upon the foundation that Chris helped lay. We dedicate
the boundary layer campaign to his memory.

Working Group Meeting Announcement
----------------------------------
Two rooms have been reserved for the GEM working group meetings at
Holiday Inn Golden Gateway in San Francisco. The working group meetings
will be held from 1pm to 6pm on December 8, 1991, prior to the week of
AGU Fall Meeting. The purposes of the working group meetings are to
follow up on discussion at the UCLA workshop and to set the agenda for
the next meeting (3-5 days) in the summer of 1992. All interested
scientists are welcome to sttend. The schedule for the workings group
meetings is as following:

Holiday Inn Golden Gateway
1500 Van Ness Avenue

	          1:00 - 3:15pm 3:45 - 6:00pm

Nevada Room Current System Data Task Force
	          and Mapping

Washington Room Boundary Magnetic and Particle Entry, Boundary
                  Electric Field Structure and Transport

There is no meeting scheduled for the working group of Global Geospace
Circulation Model.
The detailed agendas will be determined by the chairmen of the working
groups. Please contact them for further information (see the working group
lists below).

System Wide Mail Alias for GEM
------------------------------
A system wide mail alias has been established for GEM at UCLA. You
can send a message to all the people in the GEM mailing list by sending
mail to:
     gem at igpp.ucla.edu
You can also send mail to a specific GEM working group by addressing mail
to:
gem_field at igpp.ucla.edu (Boundary normal magnetic and electric field)
gem_data at igpp.ucla.edu (Data task force)
gem_boundary at igpp.ucla.edu (Particle entry, boundary structure and ...)
gem_current at igpp.ucla.edu (Current system and mappings)
