EXPERIMENT CAMPAIGN RELATED TO THE BOUNDARY WORKING GROUP
---------------------------------------------------------
                                            By Odile de la Beaujardiere
                                               Working Group Co-chair

Here is some information on the planned as well as the past
observation campaigns. These campaigns involve data from a variety
of ground-based instruments including the Goose Bay and Sondrestrom
radars, as well as data from satellites. The times listed below
correspond to the Sondrestrom incoherent scatter radar operations
(the Goose Bay radar as well as the magnetometers and riometers run
continuously).

I. EQUINOX EXPERIMENT SCHEDULE
During the December meeting it was agreed to run a coordinated
Boundary layer experiment campaign at a time close to equinox.
The schedule for this equinox campaign is as follows:
1. March 18 through 20,1992 -- 10 to 18 UT -- On an alert basis, we
will operate for one of these 3 possible periods. The observations
from the Goose Bay radar will determine when to run, based on the
coverage from the radar. The purpose of running on an alert mode is
to optimize the chances of obtaining good return signals from Goose
    Bay.
2. March 28 and 29, 1992 -- 05 to 20 UT -- These 2 runs will coincide
with Eiscat incoherent scatter observations, which are scheduled
from 05 to 15 UT. They might also coincide with the ATLAS I mission
which will provide a large number of ionospheric and thermospheric
    parameters.

II. RESULTS FROM THE WINTER OBSERVING CAMPAIGN
Data were acquired on the following periods:
1. December 22, 1991 -- 09 to 22 UT
2. January 6, 1992 -- 0430 to 13 UT
3. January 7, 1992 -- 05 to 13 UT -- Both runs, on the 6 and 7
    coincided with Eiscat observations.
4. January 27, 0940 UT to January 29, 18 UT -- Experiment to coincide
with the Incoherent Scatter Radars Coordinated World Day.

The data are being processed at this time. We hope that, by the beginning
of May, we will have selected periods of particular geophysical interest
from this large data set. Any information that will help to make this
selection is particularly welcome.
Those who are interested in getting additional information or
preliminary plots should contact the individual experimenters.
We look forward to examining these data-sets during the Snowmass meeting.
