JOB ANNOUNCEMENT - NSF MAGNETOSPHERIC PHYSICS PROGRAM DIRECTOR

DIVISION OF ATMOSPHERIC SCIENCES

The National Science Foundation, Division of Atmospheric Sciences, 
is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Program Director, 
Magnetospheric Physics Program, Upper Atmosphere Research Section. 

This position will be filled on a one- or two-year rotational basis.
The salary ranges from $60,925 to $94,953 per annum, depending on 
qualifications and experience.

The Division provides support for scientists primarily from academic 
institutions to pursue fundamental research in atmospheric sciences.
The selected candidate will carry out program planning, proposal 
evaluation, administration of research grants, and liaison with other
Federal agencies.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent experience in a relevant
field of space physics.  In addition, six or more years of successful
research, research administration, and/or managerial experience 
pertinent to the position is required.  A record of strong research
accomplishments in the above program area and broad knowledge of the
relevant U.S. research community are key qualifications.
