*************************** ** THE GEM MESSENGER ** *************************** Volume 5, Number 31 November 5, 1995 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- PLANS FOR GEM MINI-WORKSHOP: DEC. 10, 1995 - GEM BL Campaign WG-3 Plans ----------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Nancy Crooker (CROOKER at buasta.bu.edu) WORKING GROUP 3: CURRENT SYSTEMS AND MAPPING LEADERS: Eigil Friis-Christensen and Nancy Crooker As scheduled in Harlan Spence's agenda, our group will meet in Room 250 of the Moscone center from 2:45 to 4:15. The purpose of our meeting is twofold. First, in order to respond to a request from the chair of our Steering Committee, Jeff Hughes, for a brief report assessing progress and future plans, we will hold a frank discussion addressing the points and questions he listed for consideration: 1: Goals and objectives of the Working Group 2: Progress to date towards those objectives -- how close are we to achieving them, what more needs to be done (if anything)? 3: When do we envisage that the Working Group will accomplish its task and be wound up? How will we get there? The results of this discussion will be summarized into a report for consideration by the Steering Committee later in the week. Second, we will hold informal discussions on relevant research topics.
