Call for participation in Snowmass sessions
Student Tutorials
--------------------------------------------------------------------
From: Aaron Ridley (ridley at zasu.sprl.umich.edu)

Karen Hirsch and I have come up with a number of different tutorial topics
which we feel are relavent to the different campaigns which GEM supports.
At this time, we must ask for volunteers for presentations of these
selected topics. All tutorials must taught on a level than an entry level
graduate student would understand. We would like to have students give the
tutorials, but if no students volunteer, then research scientists are
welcome to present. If you are interested in presenting a tutorial, please
let me know what topic you are interested in. If you are interested in
participating in the tutorials, but not in presenting one, please let me
know that, also. We would like to get a general feel of how many people
may attend.

Here is a list of topics for the tutorials, along with the presenter (if
someone has volunteered) :

dayside reconnection and magnetospheric / ionospheric convection
    - Marit Oieroset & Aaron Ridley
particle entry and mapping magnetospheric region to the ionosphere
    -
Field aligned currents and travelling convection vorticies
    -
  dayside : the whole picture
    -

  Basic Magnetohydrodynamics
    -
  Models of the magnetosphere
    -

  Substorms - Basic overview
    - Karen Hirsch & Marc Lessard
  Substorms - The controversy
    - Marc Lessard & Karen Hirsch
  Tail dynamics
    -

Thank you for your participation,

Aaron Ridley (ridley at zasu.sprl.umich.edu)
and
Karen Hirsch (hirsch at bu-ast.bu.edu)
