Retiring and New GEM Steering Committee Members
-----------------------------------------------
From: Jeffrey Hughes (HUGHES at buasta.bu.edu)

After 4 years of service, Dick Wolf and Dolores Knipp are rotating off the
GEM Steering Committee. As they do I want to take a moment to thank them
publically for their many contributions (thus far) to the GEM program. Both
have played (and I hope will continue to play) very active roles within the
program. Dick has recently taken on a leadership role in the Campaign to
develop the GGCM (Geospace General Circulation Model) so will certainly
stay active. Most recently Dolores has led the GEM component of the
November 1993 storm study, which is not only documenting an good example of
a storm from sun to thermosphere, and helping us validate many different
geospace models, but also teaching us how to work cooperatively in a
community-wide effort to study a particular interesting interval.
Thank you both for your contributions.

Bob Clauer, as Director of the Magnetospheric Physics Program, has
appointed two new members to the Steering Committee, both of whom have
agreed to serve. They are Janet Kozyra and Kile Baker. I want to welcome
them both and look forward to their even closer involvement with GEM.

Jeffrey Hughes
Steering Committee Chair
