*************************** ** THE GEM MESSENGER ** *************************** Volume 6, Number 51 October 23, 1996 --------- HOT DATA! --------- From: Bob McGuire (Robert.E.McGuire.1 at gsfc.nasa.gov) Current (and past) Key Parameters from the ISTP missions (including Wind, Polar, Geotail, SOHO energetic particles, IMP-8 field and plasma, ground-based experiments, geosynchronous GOES and LANL data, select Interball data) are accessible to anyone using CDAWeb. CDAWeb is an easy WWW interface to quickly select and plot any combination of variables in the database (over 400, including Polar UVI imager data) on whatever time span in which you're interested. Or generate a downloadable ASCII listing. Data from many experiments is available from CDAWeb within ONE WEEK or less of when the data is taken. And the system now includes over four years of Geotail data and almost two years of Wind data. While the ISTP Key Parameters are a browse and event identification data product that is not intended for use in publications without PI certification, these data are nonetheless a uniquely rich and powerful resource to identify times, data and science signatures of research interest. Try CDAWeb access to this data just once: you may like what you find. ISTP Key Parameters on CDAWeb can be accessed at http://cdaweb.gsfc.nasa.gov or from pointers on the SPDF home page (http://nssdc.gsfc.nasa.gov/spdf), the NSSDC's space physics home page (http://nssdc.gsfc.nasa.gov/space) or the ISTP project home page (http://www-istp.gsfc.nasa.gov), all URLs with other pointers to MANY other services, data and useful information. CDAWeb (Coordinated Data Analysis Workshop Web) access to the ISTP Key Parameters is a joint service of NASA's Space Physics Data Facility (SPDF) and National Space Science Data Center (NSSDC) at Goddard Space Flight Center, and the ISTP (International Solar Terrestrial Physics) project. +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |To add name to the mailing list, send a message to: editor at igpp.ucla.edu | |For message to whole GEM mailing list, send to: gem at igpp.ucla.edu | | | |URL of GEM Home Page: http://igpp.ucla.edu/gem/Welcome.html | |Please update your e-mail address. | |CAUTION: Do not send messages to gem at igpp.ucla.edu unless you want | | your message to go to everyone in the GEM mailing list! | +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+
