Major Storm in Progress

A major geomagnetic storm started about 6 PM CST Sept. 24. Air Force/NOAA
Kp =8.6; aurorae reported at least as far south as Milwaukee; Magnetospheric
Specification Model indicates the magnetopause in to 5.5 Re and 50 keV
electron injection in to at least 4.5 Re.
