GEM Tail/Substorm Campaign
Electrojet Challenge Working Group
------------------------------------------
From: Michael Wiltberger <wiltbemj at tinman.dartmouth.edu>

The Electrojet Challenge Working group is holding one session at the
June 2000 GEM Meeting in Snowmass, CO. This session will be extension
of the Electrojet Challenge Interval discussed at the Space Weather Week
meeting in Boulder. The results presented at the Space Weather Week meeting
concentrated on comparing the results of various modeling approaches against
observations made by magnetometers on March 19-20, 1999. The emphasis of
this session will be on discussion observations and models during the
prolonged period of steady southward IMF that begin at approximately 12 UT
on March 19th and lasted until 04 UT on March 20th. The focus of this
session is on the response inthe magnetotail, but will also address the
signatures of steady southward IMF in the ionosphere.

Anyone with model results or observations that would like to present
them at the meeting should contact Michael Wiltberger at
wiltbemj at tinman.dartmouth.edu
