GEM T/S Substorm Observation Working Group
------------------------------------------
From: Shin Ohtani (ohtani at fluxgate.jhuapl.edu)

The T/S substorm observation working group will have two sessions
at this year's Snowmass workshop:

   Wednesday (6/21)
   Session 1: 10:20 - 12:10
   Session 2: 15:45 - 17:30 (both on Wednesday (6/21))

In the first session we will revisit the onset timing issue.
A focus will be placed on substorm-onset identifiers such as auroral
breakup and Pi2, and their relative timing. The second session will be
devoted to tail substorm dynamics. Fast plasma flow in the plasma sheet,
dipolarization and injection in the near-Earth regions will be discussed
based on observations. Contributed presentations are welcome at both
sessions. Discussions will be informal and interactive, and we do not
have any fixed schedule of presentations. However, we would like
interested speakers to contact Shin Ohtani <ohtani at jhuapl.edu>
prior to the workshop.

See you in Snowmass,

Mark Moldwin & Shin Ohtani (co-chairs)
