*************************** ** THE GEM MESSENGER ** *************************** Volume 14, Number 13 May 4, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------- Call for Special Session Proposals, Fall AGU Meeting ----------------------------------------------------- From: Bill Kurth, Gang Lu, and Michelle Thomsen Planning for the Fall AGU meeting is beginning, and we are seeking suggestions for possible special session topics. This year, a new web tool will be available on the AGU web site (http://www.agu.org/) for you to enter your session proposals directly. The web tool will be available from May 3 until June 11. If you prefer, you may also contact any of the SPA Secretaries listed below to discuss possible session ideas. Proposing a session on the web site or to one of the secretaries is not a guarantee that the session idea will be accepted, and indeed proposals may be modified, combined, or rejected according to the decisions of the full Program Committee, which will be meeting near the end of June. The vitality of AGU science and the excitement of the meetings depends on your creativity in identifying and proposing sessions to address active current research areas. Cross-disciplinary sessions, co-sponsored by multiple SPA areas or other sections are particularly encouraged. Help make the Fall AGU a success by submitting your ideas for special sessions!
