*************************** ** THE GEM MESSENGER ** *************************** Volume 14, Number 22 May 28, 2004 ------------------------------------------------------------ Call for Participation: Inner Magnetosphere/Storms Campaign Session on GEM Storms Analysis At the GEM 2004 Workshop, Snowmass, CO, June 21-25 ------------------------------------------------------------ From: Mike Liemohn Ian Mann The Inner Magnetosphere/Storms Campaign will have a session at this summers GEM Workshop dedicated to the analysis of the GEM-Storms events. The previously approved official GEM-storms periods are: May 15, 1997 September 25, 1998 October 19, 1998 October 4-6, 2000 March 31, 2001 October 21, 2001 April 17-24, 2002 We also solicit presentations addressing features of the recent so-called Halloween Storm from 31st October 2003, including plasmapause dynamics and the properties of outer radiation belt flux including filling of the slot region. Speakers are encouraged to focus their presentations on one, some, or all of these storms. This session is joint between all 3 IM/S working groups, and so presentations of research results across the spectrum are welcome. Those interested in giving a presentation are encouraged to contact either/both of the session chairs listed above. Note that poster presentations of GEM-Storms analyses, or any topic relevant to the Inner Magnetosphere/Storms Campaign, are welcome and encouraged.
