*************************** ** THE GEM MESSENGER ** *************************** Volume 15, Number 37 June 12, 2005 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- GI Breakout: Solar Wind Pre-conditioning in the Foreshock, Bow Shock and Magnetosheath Wed, 29 June 2005, Afternoon Sessions -------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Nick Omidi As part of the new GI campaign, two afternoon sessions will be devoted to observational and modeling presentations on how solar wind field and plasma conditions are modified in the foreshock, bow shock and magnetosheath. A number of planned presentations will focus on Hot Flow Anomalies, wave-particle interactions in the foreshock, magnetosheath turbulence and plasma consequences. Additional presentations/contributions to these sessions are hereby solicited. Interested people may send a title to Nick Omidi to be included in the speakers list or show up at the sessions. Our plan is to include as many presentations as time allows. +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |To subscribe GEM Messengers, send an e-mail to | | with the following command in the body of your e-mail message: | | subscribe gem | |To remove yourself from the mailing list, the command is: | | unsubscribe gem | | | |To broadcast a message to the GEM community, please contact Peter Chi at | | | |Please use plain text as the format of your submission. | | | |URL of GEM Home Page: http://www-ssc.igpp.ucla.edu/gem/Welcome.html | |Workshop Information: http://gem.rice.edu/~gem | +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+
