*************************** ** THE GEM MESSENGER ** *************************** Volume 15, Number 60 December 3, 2005 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- GEM Student Support for the 2006 Yosemite Workshop --------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Jerry Goldstein Financial support is available to students of the GEM community who are interested in presenting at the 2006 Yosemite Workshop on Global Aspects of Magnetosphere-Ionosphere Coupling, to take place 7-10 February 2006 (Tuesday through Friday) in the beautiful Yosemite National Park in Yosemite, California. Student support includes registration, lodging, and airfare. Students (or their advisors) will need to cover other meeting-related expenses including skiing and snowboarding at Badger Pass. Similar to GEM sessions (and as in past Yosemite meetings) the format of the 2006 workshop will be an excellent environment for students to be part of detailed, animated discussions in a low-pressure enviroment. If you are a student interested in attending the 2006 Yosemite workshop, please email your request for student support to Cyndi Kempe at ckempe at swri.edu. Your request should be accompanied by an abstract of around 500 words that will be reviewed and evalulated by the program committee. The meeting web site at http://yosemite2006.space.swri.edu contains information about housing, abstract submission, registration, and links to Yosemite Park sites. We very much hope you will consider attending, and look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely yours, and on behalf of the entire program committee, Jerry Goldstein (jgoldstein at swri.edu, 210-522-5633) Bill Lewis (wlewis at swri.edu, 210-522-5261) Cyndi Kempe (ckempe at swri.edu, 210-522-3828) +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |To subscribe GEM Messengers, send an e-mail to | | with the following command in the body of your e-mail message: | | subscribe gem | |To remove yourself from the mailing list, the command is: | | unsubscribe gem | | | |To broadcast a message to the GEM community, please contact Peter Chi at | | | |Please use plain text as the format of your submission. | | | |URL of GEM Home Page: http://www-ssc.igpp.ucla.edu/gem/Welcome.html | |Workshop Information: http://gem.rice.edu/~gem | +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+
