New GEM Focus Group "Plasmasphere-Magnetosphere Interactions"

We are happy to announce that this year's GEM meeting will begin a new GEM 
focus group, "Plasmasphere-Magnetosphere Interactions" (PMI), to be active 
from 2008-2013.  

Although details are still forthcoming regarding the 2008 meeting schedule, 
we propose the following strawman schedule for the lifetime of the PMI Focus 
Group:

2008-2010	Plasmasphere-Magnetosphere: Waves		
  -  EMIC Wave Growth		
  -  Whistlers/Hiss/Chorus		
  -  Plume Lumpiness		
2009-2011	Plume Interactions		
  -  Open Field Lines (Sheath, Ionosphere)		
  -  Plume Recirculation (incl. Cusp interact.)		
  -  Plume Dyncs: Convection & Wrapping		
  -  Plumes and Space Weather		
2010-2012	Plasmaspheric Density Features		
  -  Unknown Density Features		
  -  Lumpiness Inside Plumes		
2011-2013	The Quiet-Time Plasmasphere		
  -  Refilling		
  -  Plume Wrapping		
  -  Subcorotation		
  -  Unknown Density Features		

We welcome feedback to help us fine-tune this research schedule, and of 
course, we welcome GEM community participation in our FG.  

We expect that there will be a community planning session at this year's GEM 
meeting to solidify the plans for the future.

More information will be available about 2008 GEM meeting activities by the 
PMI Focus Group when session schedule details are solidified.  Till then,
