1. Mini-workshop Session for "GGCM Metrics and Validation" Focus Group

The GGCM Metrics and Validation focus group will have a session at this 
year's GEM mini-workshop in San Francisco.  The session will be held on 
Sunday, December 13, 2009 at 12:00-2:00pm in the Westin San Francisco Market 
Street hotel (second floor, City Room) located at 50 Third Street. 

Topics for discussions:

1. GGCM Metrics Challenge status

2. Metrics type selection. Threshold-based metrics

3. Publication Plans.

   a. Space Weather Journal papers on first Challenge results 

   b. Special Issue on on Geospace Models Metrics and Validation at the J. 
Atmospheric & Solar-Terrestrial Physic

4. Operational Metrics. NOAA SWPC needs

5. Baseline model comparison ideas and plans.

6. Plans for the Summer GEM Workshop

7. Collaboration with other GEM focus groups (Dst Challenge, Magnetopause 
position).

8. Collaboration with CEDAR in preparation to the joint GEM-CEDAR Workshop 
in 2011. 

If you are interested to contribute to the Special issue on Geospace Model 
Testing and Validation – please provide a title, authors, and an Abstract to 
the focus group conveners.  We welcome short presentation (1-3 slides) 
summarizing your results and ideas
