GEM-ULTIMA Forum on Ground Magnetometer Observations at 2012 GEM Mini-workshop ---------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Peter Chi The 2012 GEM-ULTIMA Forum and the ULTIMA Annual Meeting will be held together at the GEM Mini-workshop in San Francisco from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Sunday, December 2. This joint meeting consists of two sessions: The first session is devoted to science presentations based mainly on ground magnetometer observations, and the second session is focused on reports from magnetometer arrays and discussions of ULTIMA operation. The meeting time and location can be found in the GEM Mini-workshop schedule at: http://aten.igpp.ucla.edu/gem/pdf/MiniWorkshopSchedule_GEM2012.pdf Established in 2006, Ultra Large Terrestrial International Magnetometer Array (ULTIMA) is an international consortium that aims at promoting collaborative research on the magnetosphere, ionosphere, and upper atmosphere through the use of ground-based magnetic field observations. The current ULTIMA members include the investigators of the following magnetometer arrays: AAIMNet (Australian), AUTUMN, CARISMA, DTU Space Magnetometer Array, IGPP-LANL, IMAGE, MACCS, MAGDAS, McMAC, MEASURE, SAMBA, SEGMA, and THEMIS (GBO/EPO). More information about ULTIMA can be found at http://www.serc.kyushu-u.ac.jp/ultima/ultima.html . This special forum is open to all the members of GEM and other interested parties. Magnetometer teams that are not currently affiliated with ULTIMA are encouraged to participate. Requests of presentations can be addressed to Peter Chi (pchi at igpp.ucla.edu), Secretary of ULTIMA. +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ | To subscribe GEM Messengers, send an e-mail to | | | | with the following command in the body of your e-mail message: | | subscribe gem | | To remove yourself from the mailing list, the command is: | | unsubscribe gem | | | | To broadcast a message to the GEM community, please contact | | Peter Chi at | | | | Please use plain text as the format of your submission. | | | | GEM Messenger is also posted online via newsfeed at | | http://heliophysics.blogspot.com and | | http://www.facebook.com/heliophysics | | | | Back issues are available at ftp://igpp.ucla.edu/scratch/gem/ | | | | URL of GEM Home Page: http://aten.igpp.ucla.edu/gemwiki | | Workshop Information: http://www.cpe.vt.edu/gem/index.html | +-------------------------------------------------------------------+
