Steering Committee New Members

The GEM Steering Committee had its (biannual) summer meeting at the 
end of the workshop in Snowmass. One of the business items was to 
replace outgoing members, and choose a new Chair who will replace me 
in 2015.

We are happy to welcome Ian Cohen who was elected by his student peers 
as a student representative. He replaces outgoing student 
representative Nathaniel Frissell.

The Steering Committee elected four new members of the Steering 
Committee. Mike Wiltberger joins us as Chair Elect. Scott Elkington 
replaces Jerry Goldstein as a research area coordinator for Inner 
Magnetosphere and Storms. Drew Turner and Robyn Millan join us as 
"Members at Large", replacing Emma Spanswick and Liz MacDonald.

Please join me in wholehearted thanks to the outgoing members, and 
congratulations to the new members. As always, we have our work cut 
out for us. The next few years promise to be exciting, as we deal with 
the opportunities embodied by exciting new space missions, and develop 
new collaborations between GEM, CEDAR, and SHINE within the US system, 
and complimentary programs around the world.
