-Due to continuing uncertainties with the COVID-19 pandemic, the GEM Steering Committee decided to hold a fully virtual meeting in 2021. The Workshop Organizers continue negotiations with the hotel in Hawaii regarding the possibility to postpone the in-person summer workshop until 2022. The Steering Committee will provide feedback to the community once an agreement with the hotel is reached and plans are finalized. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

	The GEM 2021 summer workshop is scheduled to take place at the Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii, back-to-back with SHINE, our sister organization studying solar and heliospheric physics. Mark your calendars: GEM will be from Jul 26 to Jul 30 (with a GEM Student Day on Jul 25), and SHINE will take place the following week at the same hotel - please consider attending both! As planned before, there will be a joint GEM-SHINE workshop on the common weekend (Jul 31). Information will be available at the GEM workshop website as time approaches.
